Alignment tools: guidelines, snaps and margins

Modified on Wed, 27 Mar 2019 at 02:05 PM

Memento Pro eliminates the fuss of manual image adjustment by offering a powerful set of auto-alignment tools. When you resize or reposition an image on your canvas, alignment guidelines will appear automatically.  You can quickly align image frames to the edges or center of each other or to the canvas without effort.

When you select one or more images and drag them on the canvas, guidelines will appear to magnetically pull the selection into place.

This occurs as the selection approaches other frames, the page margins, or the vertical/horizontal mid-point of the page,

White snaplines around the canvas edge indicate the edges of your frames. The snaps can be dragged to resize frames.

Drag one snap on top of another to perfectly align adjacent images.  Move a shared snap to resize the frames relative to each other.

Margins

Adjustable margin lines contour the canvas, indicated by a dotted line and grey icons around the edge of the canvas
While each new page appears with the default margins as specified under Settings, the margin lines may be dragged into a new position on a per page basis.

Margins and snaps work together to provide easy alignment.  Drag a margin line to a new position. Drag a snap to align with the margin line  - all images on that snap line will now be flush with the margin.

Apply a new layout to your page (via Autoshuffle, the Layouts pane or the Layout preview). The new layout will fit to the margins.

In the example below, the top margin has been dragged to a lower position. Clicking the auto-shuffle spread option will apply a new layout respecting the new margins.
