How do I make a cover for my album?

Covers are included in any of the album/book project types.

After selecting one of these products, you will find cover size specifications available under the Settings tab. Covers require special dimensions, as they will usually include a value for the spine width, and may have different safe insets, bleed values or overall dimensions to accommodate the manufacturing procedure. If you have set up a custom product for your album, be sure to ask the manufacturer about cover options and sizes.

Note the total width of the cover includes the spine value as well.

After configuring your book settings and adding a photo collection, move to the Editor. The Editor is divided into the Book tab, to see all the interior pages of your album, the Page tab, where you can work on individual interior pages, and the Cover tab., where you can design your cover as a separate page.

Covers display extra guidelines, depending on your album settings. These may include margins for the spine. Note that the cover is designed with the back cover on the left and the front cover on the right.

Edit the cover in the same manner as a Page. You may be able to include a text frame on the spine - check with your manufacturer.

Note that some manufacturers do not allow custom-printed covers, but use stock covers (possibly embossed) rather than a printed photo option. Some manufacturers may have multiple cover dimensions for albums with different page ranges. The spine will grow larger as the number of pages increases, so it is important to get the right dimensions before submitting your finalized project for printing.
