Add dimension and color to your pages using the Shape tool. Click on the Shape icon in the top left corner of the page to add a shape to your page. It will appear with the default properties set by your current Style.
Shapes have many of the same features as image frames. Their color, border, contour, and opacity can be changed in the same manner as an image frame.
Use shapes to define a region for text. A contrasting background makes the text stand out better against the photo background.
Use a shape to better define a small photo arrangement on your page.
Add a splash of color. In this case, a gradient has been applied to an unbordered shape.
Masks can also be applied to shapes.
Use shapes to make decorative effects. In this example, four simple circles liven up a simple composition.
You can also use a shape to spotlight your photos.
Add a ribbon-effect to give dimension to your composition. The slight shadow completes the effect - the shape seems to float slightly off the rest of the photos.
